Digital Marketing Intern

Kierra Thomas

Kierra Thomas is currently a senior pursuing a degree in advertising with a minor in communication studies at the University of Alabama. Kierra has always had a passion for creative content and writing. Her future goal is to create advertising and social media content for a brand or multiple companies while traveling. She is excited to be a part of the iLS Network team and to get real world experience in digital marketing.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Kierra applied to a couple of universities in state and out of state, but after touring UA's campus and seeing Bryant-Denny Stadium for the very first time in person, she knew that Bama would be her home. Being a first-generation college student, she was able to connect with other first-generation students and get involved on campus. After living in the dorms for a year and a half, she decided to move into an apartment with two of her friends and fell in love with how cute their apartment was. She often goes to the pool to relax on a hammock underneath the palm trees with friends during the summer, works out in the gym, and attends resident events hosted in the clubhouse. Her favorite features about her apartment are the balcony and the walk-in closet.

Kierra is a part of multiple organizations on campus, including Industry Immersion, an organization where students are taken to different cities to get firsthand experience in different industries and to connect with UA alumni. She has taken on the role of creative content director where she brainstorms content and works alongside the communications team of the organization. Kierra is also a writer and social media contributor for Alice magazine, where she has authored articles for their Entertainment and Food and Health sections. She recently became a part of the design team for a new publication house called Red Rook Publication as an editor.

Outside of school, Kierra spends her time cooking and learning new recipes. Recently, she learned how to make strawberry cheesecake muffins from scratch. When she is not cooking, she is spending time together with her friends trying new restaurants downtown. She loves going to Another Broken Egg for brunch on Sundays and Half Shelf Oyster House. She also spends her time at Barnes & Noble to find new novels to read. She is deeply passionate about dance and used to dance in high school. Whenever she is not working out, she is learning new contemporary dance styles.
