Bella Santangelo

Bella Santangelo is a junior at the University of Alabama, majoring in Public Relations with a General Business minor. Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bella knew she wanted to step outside of her comfort zone when choosing a college and only applied to out-of-state schools. Even after visiting numerous schools, none of them gave Bella the same impression that UA did. She was drawn to its strong school spirit, large campus and well-known public relations program. She knew it was a place where she could grow, learn new things about herself, and chart a future career path.

Bella knew she wanted to be involved at her school and decided to join the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha to meet new people as well as take on leadership roles in the future. She joined the philanthropy committee and public relations team her freshman year and was eventually offered a position on the Executive Council as the Ritual Chair. She loved working alongside other like-minded individuals while gaining valuable career experience and skills. Zeta Tau Alpha has become an important part of Bella's life, as she lived in the sorority house her sophomore year and now lives with 4 other sorority sisters whom all served on the Executive Council with her.

Bella was ready to venture even further outside of her comfort zone, so she decided to study abroad in Florence, Italy, the summer before her junior year. She was able to immerse herself in a variety of cultures and learned that traveling was a huge passion of hers. After returning home, Bella loved sharing her experiences so much that she began work as an Alumni Ambassador for the program that she studied abroad with. She is now also employed in UA's Education Abroad Office as a student assistant where she continues to help other students through the abroad process.

Bella's hobbies include going on walks with friends and attending workout classes. She was a competitive dancer growing up and has always found joy and comfort in dance. She also loves cooking and trying new restaurants; Chuck's Fish in Tuscaloosa is a personal favorite. When traveling, Bella's favorite destinations are anywhere by the beach, but specifically Charleston, South Carolina, and Jupiter, Florida. Lastly, Bella enjoys spending her time volunteering with the program Al's Pals where she acts as a mentor to local elementary school students hoping to be making a difference in their lives.
